He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Mercer and Ruby L. Tennant Mercer; his wife Lillie Mercer; his daughter Linda Louise Mercer; his grandson Vernon Jones; and his siblings, Asa Junior Mercer, Joseph Mercer, Jean Jones and Virginia Lou Brewer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Liz Jones (Ronnie) of Fairmont, Sue Price of Wadestown, Lynne Sine of Morgantown and Deborah Price (Wesley) of Wana; and his brother Nolan Mercer (Sally) of Metz. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
