He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Edward Barnette Sr. and Alice Shupp Barnette Wilson; his sons, Terry Lee Barnette and Ray Lee Barnette; his brother George Barnette; his daughter Christy Gorby; his stepdaughter Cyntia Coberly; his sisters, Maddline McIntyre and Hazel Barnette; his stepsiblings, Sharon Fender, Tiny Arnold, Connie Sunstone and Edgell Wilson Jr.; his stepfather Edgell "Curly" Wilson; and his brothers-in-law, Robert McIntyre and Stanley McIntyre.
He is survived by: his children, Jack Barnette (LeAnna) and Sherry Poe; his stepson Jerry Lee Greathouse Jr.; his siblings, Harold Roger Barnette, Rose Barr (Don), Ruth Smith (Ronnie) and Helen McIntyre; and his stepbrother Rick Wilson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
