We are sad to announce that on October 21, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Luther Gump of Mannington, West Virginia. Family and friends can send flowers and/or light a candle as a loving gesture for their loved one. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Gump and Helen Trader Gump; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Reez, Phyllis Jean Blake and Francis Gump.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Sue Gump of Mannington; his children, James Gump (Dawn) of Lewistown, Scott Gump (Sue) of Waterloo, Ontario and Christina Nelmes (Roger) of Hockley, Texas; and his siblings, James Gump of Wallace, WV, Roger Lee Gump of Wallace, WV, Robert Gump of Ohio and Karen "Sissy" Hall. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

“Bud Gump was a extraordinary friend. We spent nearly two years together in the Army, at Fort Bliss, and at a HAWK Missile Site on the south of Okinawa. I was honored to be his friend. We trained, worked, pulled guard, drank, survived several Super Typhoons, and stayed up through many long nights together. We also shared our lives "back in the World" together many times. Bud shared his hopes, wishes, and aspirations with me. As I did with him. I've always hoped he found his dreams.”
