He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Smith and Ada Haught Smith; and his sisters, Pauline Porter (Ray), Giulia Ice (Dan) and Geneva Jones (Albert).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Smith (Jones) of Mannington; his children, Jeffrey Smith (Rhonda) of Mannington, Jonathan Smith (Giulia) of Germanton, NC and Lisa Robbins (Keith) of Rivesville, WV; and his grandchildren, Amanda Barker (Josh), Angie Hayes (Rob), Nikki Toothman (Jon), Bethany Dulaney (Corey), Lauren Boros, Hannah Clark (Jonathan) and Cody Murray. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
