He was predeceased by: his parents, Encil Ray and Florence Byard (Stoneking); his brothers, Robert Byard and Junior Byard (Steelers); his daughter-in-law Leasa Byard (Thomas); and his brother-in-law Ernest Freeland.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Ray Byard; his sons, Tom Byard of Ocala, FL, Tim Byard (Darlene) of Mannington and Buck Byard (Mia) of Gainesville, FL; his sister Mary "Kitty" Freeland of Greenville, NC; his siblings-in-law, Sharon Byard (Fluharty) of Plum Run, Kathy Price (Ray) of Fairmont and Don Ray (Joyce) of Norwood, NC; his grandchildren, Clint McClure, JD Byard (Carrie), Adam Gorby (Danika), Wesley Byard, Mariah Harvey (Josh), Cameron Byard and Chelsea Neher (Zane); and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Bodie Byard, Brayden, Liam Gorby, Blake Byard, Mila and Vivian Harvey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
