It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Fortney of Mannington, West Virginia, who passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Aries G. "Jack" Fortney and Sue Glover "Sissie" Fortney; his sister Barbara Fortney Price; and his nephew Ronnie Price. He is survived by: his wife Laura Ruth Carpenter Fortney; his children, Charles Dewayne Fortney, Crystal Lowe of Fairview, WV and Regina Fortney Yoho of Douglasville, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Derek Fortney of Mannington, WV, Taylor Ashcraft of Mannington, WV and Brooks Yoho of Suwanee, GA; his pet Duke; his niece Tammy Powell; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald Carpenter, Eddie Glover, Jim Glover and Terry Yoho.
