Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ernest Michael of Mannington, West Virginia, born in Fairmont, West Virginia, who passed away at the age of 72, on February 18, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Doc" Michael and Jacquelinae "Jackie" Sponaugle Michael Horn; his son Robbie Michael; his grandson Ethan Fittro; his brother Bill Horn; and his stepparents, Joann Michael and Raymond Horn.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Cunningham Michael of Mannington; his daughter April Fittro (Jason) of Mannington; his grandsons, Hunter Thomas Fittro (Brittany) of Mannington and Chase Michael Fittro of Mannington; his siblings, Robert Horn (Helen) of Mt. City, TN, Mark Michael (Theresa) of Mannington and Kelli Pertlove (Daniel) of Greenville, SC; his uncle Curtis Michael (Betty) of Mannington; his cousin Rebecca Hendershot of Mannington; his daughter-in-law Robyn Walker of Raleigh Durham, NC; and his friends, Dr. Babette Simms of Corpus Christi, TX, Tom Neer, Jack Cunningham, Gary and Craig. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

As we continue to recognize attending any services during the Covid-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery of Mannington, The Children of the CROSS in Mannington, the Mannington Food Pantry, and the Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Granny Crow wrote a sympathy message

“I remember Ernie from my childhood, and had the pleasure of feeding him at my sister, Sylvia Toothman’s house a couple of years ago. He was a stellar human being, and I know how hard he worked for his family. I have always considered him a friend. Not the least of his attributes, I considered him an exemplary contributor of the West Virginia, let me say, “clear” variety of libation. RIP. Ernie. You will be missed”
