He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Carnes and Algie Fern Sycks Carnes; his grandparents, Hattie and Ted Sycks; and his siblings, Bernard "Duty" Carnes, Sidney "Kip" Carnes, Gloria Eddy, Richard "Dick" Carnes, Judy Carnes and Wilma McGinty.
He is survived by: his wife Vicky Carnes; his son Donald Lee Carnes, Jr. (Sara) of Mannington; his grandchildren, Evan, Raiden, Liam and Emma Carnes; his siblings, Tim Carnes (Carolyn) of Whetstone, Gerald Carnes (Ann) of Mannington, Jim Carnes (Mary) of Shinnston, Paul Carnes (Ann) of Charles Town, WV, Homer Carnes (Rose) of Mannington, Charles Carnes (Teddy) of Mannington, Edward Carnes (Mary) of Akron, OH and Patty Hostutler (Bob) of Mannington; his cousins, Amanda Hicks (John), Melissa Rose (Dave), Christina Smith (Chad), Beth Liggett (Tom), Leann Hostutler, Shawn Carnes (Melissa), Brenda Miller, Terri Sponaugle (Dennis), Michele Mirakian (Grey), Mara Polinger (Brian), Jason Carnes, John Carnes (Joann), Michael Bristo, Delberta McKenney, Diana Miller (Paul), Sandy Mikes (Joe), Teddy Carnes and Corey Hostutler; his mother-in-law Charlotte Lane; and his brother-in-law Larry Lane. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
