He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Clark Carter; and his parents, Thomas Carter and Joan Winberry Carter. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Kristy Jacobs, Misty Roop (Mike), PJ Johnson (Amanda) and Jody Meadows (Eric); and his siblings, Tommy, Robert Carter, Eddie Little (Trish), Terri Valentine (Allen) and Carolyn Stewart (Doc). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
