He is survived by: his grandchildren, David, Thompson III, Taylor Lynn Nelson and Hunter Thompson; his children, David Thompson Jr. II, April Wade (Eric) and Danielle Thompson; and his siblings, Joseph Ralph Nethken, Ernest William "Bill" Thompson Jr., Robert Leon "Bob" Thompson Sr. (Judy), Nancy Heord (John), Rosalee Gray and Jodi Arnett (David). He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
