He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Nelson; his children, Melissa Short (Nathan) of Madison Creek and Christopher Nelson (Tanya Watson) of Elkins; his grandchildren, Christopher Nelson, Jacob Nelson of Proctor Bottom, Cooper Nelson of Elkins and Mystery Short (Jaide); his stepgrandchildren, Carter Setchell and Cameron Bender; his siblings, Archie Nelson (Kristy), William Nelson Jr. and Arnett Doss of Chapmanville; and his brothers-in-law, Walter Marcum Jr. and Bernard Maynard Jr.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
