He was predeceased by: his father Larra "Joe" Bock; and his brother John Bock. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Bock of Mannington, WV; his children, Melvin "Joey" Joseph Bock (Tonya) of Lumberport, WV, James Wallace Bock Jr. (Emily) of Check, VA and Erika Elaine Pittman (Cory) of Morgantown, WV; his grandchildren, Brad, Laura, Dani and Buddy "Boudreaux"; his mother Betty Bock of Mannington, WV; his siblings, Butch, Dorothy Bock of Brooksville, FL, Linda, John Perkins of St. Mary, WV and Joe Bock of Mannington, WV; and his grandson Joey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in his name to Patriot PAWS (patriotpaws.org) or Paws and Stripes (pawsandstripes.org), which are organizations that train and match service dogs to veterans in need.
