He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Wilson and Ruth Virginia Bowman Gibson; his son Eric Robey; and his brother Bucky Gibson. He is survived by: his children, Brian Robey of Lost Creek, Sean Robey of Lost Creek and Maryann Montgomery of Cambridge, OH; his grandchildren, Alicia Gibson, David Montgomery, Jr., Caleb Robey, Jaylyn May, Mya Robey, Caden Robey, Collin Robey, Brian Robey, Jr., Taner Robey and Presten Robey; and his sisters, Betty Needles of Columbus, OH and Ruth Fleming of Pataskala, OH.. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
