He was predeceased by: his parents, Daisy Rhem and Buster Rhem; his mother-in-law Evelyn Saunders; and his siblings, Thelma Hill, Ledressa Clark and Melvin Rhem.
He is survived by: his close friend Shawn Brauer; his wife Gloria Rhem of London, WV; his children, Robert Saunders of Tampa, FL and Alexandria Fisher (Rusty) of Charleston, WV; his grandchildren, Kordell, Kaiden Wilborne and Averie Wilborne of Charleston, WV; and his siblings, Julia McDonald of Florida, Emma Brown of Florida, Deloris Goodman of Florida, Cynthia Simmons of Florida, Jesse Rhem, Jack Rhem, Robert Rhem, Henry Rhem and Frank Rhem of Florida. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.
In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Booker T. Washington Community Center where he raised his famous watermelons.
