He was predeceased by: his parents, Freelin Vance and Mary Vance (Messer); his grandparents, Woodrow, Virgie Vance, Jesse and Myrtle Messer; and his brother Freelin "Bug" Vance Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Virginia Nicole Custer (Chaz) of Dayton, OH; his siblings, Mary Ann Bias (Mark) of Meadowview, VA, Marsha Bradley (Mike) of Whitman, WV, Tammy Robertson (Timmy) of Meadowview, VA and Chris Vance of Logan, WV; his grandchildren, Zack, Brady and Peyton Custer of Dayton, OH; and his sister-in-law Nikki Vance.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (220 Main St, Chapmanville, WV 25508).
