He is survived by: his wife Gay Carter; his children, Ellen Fetters (Dewey Keith), Renee Adkins (Eddie Horne), Terri Tomblin and Joseph Carter (Angela King); his sisters, Jessie Hannah and Donnretta Carter; his sisters-in-law, Sherlene Olson, Iva Stallard (Rally), Sherry Marcum (Mary Ann Bevins), Mary Iris Adkins and Vicky Kinder Carter; his grandchildren, Zachary Adkins (Aundrea Jade), Zayne Adkins, Tanner Carter, Isaiah Tomblin, Taylor Carter (Evan Gibson), Zoe Adkins (Dereck Price), Rachelle Craddock (Daniel) and Isabella Tomblin; his great grandchildren, Jasper, Jamesyn Price, Brandon Kinser (Samantha Brewer), Cooper, Gunner Craddock, Tori Spry (Andy Maynard), Veralynn Legg, Journee Price and Rockelle Gibson; his great great grandchild Creed Maynard; and his close friends, Amy Nichols, Sharden Sammons, Jerry Thompson and Clifford "Snip" Watkins.
