He is survived by: his son Roger Gibson Jr.; his brothers, Otis Edward Gibson and Walson Lee Gibson; his brother-in-law Raymond Avis; his daughter Sherry Violet (Terry); his grandsons, Dustin Violet, Tyler Violet and Dakota Violet; his great grandchildren, Haiden, Christian, Elijah, Noah, Jonah, Logan, Layla and Legend; and his siblings, Ronald Gibson (Nancy), Carlene Avis, Susan Taylor, Debbie Gibson and Polly Cripps (Ron). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
