He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Scaggs and Anna Mae Duncan Scaggs; and his siblings, Buster, Denny, Freddie, Robert, Max, Neal, Jerry Scaggs and Joan Means.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Scaggs of Logan; and his son Roger G. Scaggs (Sherry) of Huntington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Logan.
