She was predeceased by: her father Bill Twohig Simmons. She is survived by: her mother Frances Tuckwiller Simmons (W. Va) of Alderson; her husband Allen Brown Shafer of Lewisburg; her siblings, Dr. Michael Simmons (Pamela) of Phoenix, Tom Simmons (Belinda) of Flat Top and Margaret "Margy" Simmons (W. Va) of Alderson; her sister-in-law Brenda Barry (John); her uncle Sam Tuckwiller (W. Va) of Lewisburg; her nieces, Laura Starr (Connor) of Charlotte, N. C., Brittany Lane (Joshua) of Princeton, Jessica Bulson (Taylor) of Bluefield and Whitney Barry of Huntington; and her nephew Benjamin Simmons (W. Va) of Flat Top. She is also survived by three great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
