She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Wilbur and Margaret Gwinn Rice; her husband Ernest Backus; her daughter Amber Dawn; and her siblings, Wanda Phillips and Roger Dale Rice.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Backus (Cheryl) of Rock, WV and Terri Backus McGuire of Rainelle; her siblings, Brenda Roach of Meadow Bridge, Sharon Cook of Avondale Estates, GA, Jane Yankey of Danese, Phyllis McCall of Rainelle and James Rice (Tere) of McKinney, TX.; her granddaughter Brandi Fox; and her great grandchildren, Brittnei, Braden and Presley of Cranberry, PA.
