He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Auto Stephens and Ida Opal Stephens (Rollins); and his siblings, Bernice Fultz, Edna Seberig, Owens Stephens, Dean Stephens, Herman Richard Stephens and Ervin Ray Stephens.

He is survived by: his close friend Dorothy Blankenship of Leon.
