It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Russell of Lavalette, West Virginia, born in Logan, West Virginia, who passed away on January 18, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Russell and Ethel King Russell; his daughter Sara Leigh; his son-in-law Danny Queen; his granddaughters, Laura Lea Queen and Cora Leigh Russell; his son-in-law Jack Hammer; and his siblings, Gaynell Adkins, Lorene Stephens, Ladonna May, Howard, Edsel and Michael Russell.
He is survived by: his wife Polly Fae Copley; his children, Millie Hammer of Tampa, Fla., Karen Jones (Stephen) of Spartanburg, S. C., John (Stephanie) of Wayne and Mark (Brenda) of Lavalette; his siblings, Ernest Glen Russell, Tennie Arrowood and Bernice Copley; and his grandchildren, Christopher Adkins, Aaron Russell, Jamison Queen, Jennifer Jones Nicholson, Stephen Jones, Jr., Sarah Jones Disasa, Megan Russell, Daniel Russell, Sara Kate Russell, Erika and Natalie Amatao. He is also survived by 10 children.
He tested positive for Covid-19 a week ago.
