He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Mitchem and Dora Odle Mitchem; and his siblings, Ruby Mitchem, Julie Mitchem, Juanita Lusk, Franklin Mitchem (Dee), Jimmy Mitchem and Ronald Mitchem.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Smith Mitchem; his children, Donnell Mitchem, Jr. (JoAnn) of Salem, VA and Hannah Sheets (Charles) of Lashmeet; his sisters, Judy Lusk (Melvin) of Spanishburg and Ester Cecil (Calvin) of Lashmeet; and his grandchildren, Julie Sheets, Daniel Sheets, Samuel Sheets and Allie Mitchem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
