He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hale and Una Walker Hale; and his siblings, Lorraine Rutledge and Bill Hale. He is survived by: his wife Virda Taylor Hale; his sons, Doug Hale of Lashmeet and Ernie Hale (Becky) of Spanishburg; and his grandchildren, Kenna and Dykota.
