Velma Virginia Jackson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Virginia Jackson of Kistler, West Virginia, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Gordon and Eloise Brackens; her husband William Jackson; her grandmother Mary Hester Jones; her siblings, Juanita Brackens and Grant Robinson; her grandsons, Dewayne Jackson (DJ) and Joshua Jackson; her sisters, Ora Hagood (James), Victoria Davis (Tony), Lorlena White (Alfred) and Holbert Jackson (Daisy); and her daughters, Sherri Jackson, Phyliss and Constance.
She is survived by: her nephews, Eugene Gordon, William Jackson (Pat) and Richard Jackson (Mary); her children, Joyce Jackson (Curtis), Beatrice Miller, Dennis Gordon (Dana), Teresa Hairston (Edward), William Gordon (Terri), Wayne Jackson (Dana), Glen Jackson, Shawn Jackson, Dionne Bartley (Terren), Gloria Jenkins Ronald (Williard), Joan Starghill and Vivian Garrett; and her sister-in-law Carol Robinson. She is also survived by 40 Grandchildren, 82 Great-grandchildren, and 17 Great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Then, she worked for Logan County Public Schools as a substitute teacher until the COVID pandemic.
