He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Sonny" Edward Wheeler Sr. and Norma Rosalie Wheeler Neubauer (Prince); his son Robert "Bobby" E. Wheeler; his nephew Bryan Wheeler; and his sister-in-law Joann Wheeler.
He is survived by: his daughter Kerrie Lynn (Terry Knotts); his brothers, Gary Wheeler, Billy (Tracy Wheeler) and Lyn (Sherry Wheeler); his stepbrother Steve Bishop; his sisters, Sue (Gary Squires), Wendy Shaffer and Kristy Johnson; his stepsister Robin Wable; his grandchildren, Robert "Mitchell" (Mattie Thrift) and Karlee Morgan Knotts; his great grandchildren, Haven Jo and Henley June Thrift; and his stepmother Clara Wable Wheeler.
