He is survived by: his wife Denise Durr Schmidl; his children, Michael Schmidl, Jr. (Mindy) and Martine (Andy Stefan); his grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, McKenna Schmidl and Mason Stefan; and his siblings, Joe, Andy Schmidl, Kathy Mullins, Crystal Lantz, Patricia Johnson, Angela Schmidl, Beverly Ammons, Dawn Schmidl and Sandy Jones. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
