He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzy C. Uphold and Virginia B. Uphold (Shrout); his granddaughter Haley K. Rohr; and his siblings, Jack Uphold, Sunny Uphold, Buck Uphold and Bonnie Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry K. Rohr of Kingwood, James W. Uphold, Jr. of Kingwood and Marion Angelina Uphold Rager of Kingwood; his grandchildren, Amanda D. Rohr of Servern, MD, Ronald E. Rager II of Kingwood, Pantera M. Prichett of Kingwood, WV and Samantha B. Prichett of Morgantown; and his siblings, Ted "Fuzzy" Uphold, Albright of Ruby Uphold, OH and Connie Uphold of Tunnelton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
