He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Coy and Anna Pearl Funk (Beatty); his son David Eugene Funk; and his siblings, Ernie Coy Funk, Raymond Lee Funk, Printiss Bradley Funk, Kenneth Paul Funk, Alfreda Aleta Nice, Myrtle Aldean Shaffer Wagnor, Sarah Faye Hixenbaugh and Inez Funk of Virginia.
He is survived by: his children, Fred Ray Funk Jr. (Jenny Funk), Robert Ervin (Melissa Funk), Larry Allen (Nancy Funk), Deborah Sue (Greg Lanham) and Sharon Melissa (Robin Griffith); his siblings, Dale David Funk of Terra Alta and Hazel Dephine McNemar of Maryland; his close friend Carolyn White; and his former wife Donna Louise Wardlaw (McCray). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
