It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald J. Chiccehitto of Keyser, West Virginia, who passed away on September 25, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Caroline DiUbaldo and Louie Chiccehitto; and his brother Lou Chiccehitto. He is survived by: his wife Janis E. Shobe of Cumberland; his children, Louis Chiccehitto of Cincinnati and Dina; his son-in-law Todd Nelson of Greenville; his grandchildren, Gordon, Lucy, Ella, Gabe, Kristen and Kayla; his sisters, Nancy Eckard of Bedford and Carol; his brother-in-law Mitch Durst of Keyser; and his sisters, Susan (Don Hindman) and Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, a veteran's service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of military actions. (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org or 855-488-3997).

“I became good friends with Chic at Potomac State College in 1959-1961. Too many stories to tell here, but many adventures were experienced with Chic along with another buddy Bob "Kangaroo" Wise. We all ended up in the military, Kangaroo in the US Army Special Forces, me in the US Army and then on faculty of the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. I was looking forward to visiting with Chic shortly before he died but unfortunately was not able to make the trip. Wonderful man!!!”

“I am a classmate of 1959 with chick. He was such a genuine and always the gentleman. He was funny but at the same time quiet. If you can understand that. We will our handsome Chick at the Alumni, standing up their with his military uniform on. My heart was bursting with pride for him.
