He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Scarlavai and Antoinette Scarlavai; his son James R. Scarlavai; his brother Albert Lombardi; and his great grandchild Connor.
He is survived by: his wife Mary of Keyser; his brothers, Robert and Ronald of White Cloud, Michigan; and his children, Rosemarie Balch (Michael) of Fraser, Michigan, Michael (Anna) of Noblesville and Richard "Rick" (Maureen) of St. Simons Island, Georgia. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
