Juliann Thomas Obituary
Juliann Thomas, 16, of Keyser, W.Va., died Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born on March 25, 1979, in Cumberland, Md., she was a daughter of Julian W. Thomas Jr., and wife Susan, of Cumberland, Md., and Mary E. (Holderby) Thomas, of Keyser. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Julian Thomas Sr.; her maternal grandmother, Eula Holderby; her paternal great-grandparents, Cornelius and Mary Thomas, and Rev. Melvin Washington; and her maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Betty Holderby, and Robert and Mary Leatherman.
Juliann was a member of the Totally Free Drug Club and was an honor student at Keyser High School. She previously attended Braddock Middle School and Cresaptown Elementary. She was active in Girl Scouting and was employed as a carrier with the Cumberland Times-News. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving in addition to her parents are three brothers, Johnathan Schwenninger, of Cumberland; Terrance J. Holderby and wife Becky, of Sumit Point, W.Va.; and Julian W. Thomas III, of Cumberland; five sisters, Tamara L. Thomas, Jacqueline F. Thomas, and Cassandra Thomas, all of Keyser, and Verda K. Thomas and Cristen Thomas, both of Cumberland, Md.; two nieces, Deja Thomas, Keyser; and Drew Holderby, Summit Point; her paternal great-grandmother, Carrie Washington, of Keyser; her paternal grandmother, Verda Thomas, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and her maternal grandfather, Glenn Holderby, of Keyser; her step-grandparents, George and Nancy Rogan, Millersville, Md.; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
