Sweitzer (Runion); his children, Heather Little (Greg) of Burlington, NC and Jeffrey Scott Sweitzer (Becca Fleming) of Williamston, NC; his stepchildren, James Edward Mullen, Jr. (Mandy) of Vicksburg, MS, Melissa A. Mullen of Vicksburg, MS, Elizabeth "Beth" Miller (Joe) of Vicksburg, MS and Mary Catherine Branan (Zack) of Vicksburg, MS; his brother Jerald E. "Jerry" Sweitzer of Keyser; his grandchildren, Emily Little and Jayden Sweitzer; his stepgrandchildren, Addie Rae, Sam, Lane, Shawn Michael, Justin, Katherine, Joseph and Hannah; his niece Erica Steedman; his nephew Owen Sweitzer; and his parent-in-law George.
