It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard C. Shoemaker of Keyser, West Virginia, who passed away on December 14, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas V. Shoemaker and Ruth I. Shoemaker (Baker); and his grandsons, Troy L. Shoemaker, II and Colton J. Shoemaker. He is survived by: his wife Shirley L. Shoemaker (Leatherman); his children, Troy L. Shoemaker (Karen), Kevin J. Shoemaker (Crystal) and Lori S. Judy (Nethanel); his grandchildren, Erik (Shannon), Rachel (Stephen), Josh (Mary Beth), Chad, Cody, Trevor, Tanner (Vanessa) and Achilles; his great grandchildren, Isabella, Layairra, Wesson, Blake, Joshua, Ezekiel and Emeryn; his sisters, Joyce Becker, Nancy Rinker (Tom) and Gay Grogg (Chris); his siblings-in-law, Donald Leatherman (Ceil) and Phyllis Hovermale; and also John Leatherman (Tammy).
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Fountain Volunteer Fire Department or to The Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
