He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Terrell, Sr. and Guelda Pearl Terrell (Dawson); and his son Gregory H. Terrell. He is survived by: his wife Shirley C. Terrell (Llewellyn); his children, Gary Hal Terrell (Lisa) of Keyser and Teresa Staggs (Michael Shane) of Burlington, WV; his grandchildren, Brittney Staggs, Jonas Terrell (Cara) and Josiah Terrell; and his brother Garland H. "Gib" Terrell (Grace Ann) of Keyser.
