He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Edward and Thelma Belle Ack (Nicol); his former wife Diane Lee Ack (Long); and his siblings, David Heyl Ack, Judy C. Cox and Linda K. Musgrove.
He is survived by: his fiancée Carole George (McKone); his children, Gary Edward Ack, Jr., Michele "Missy" Ack and William "Billy" Ack (Heather); his grandchildren, Mariah P. Ack, William K. "Willie" Ack, II, Evan C. Ack and Ryan W. Ack; and his brother-in-law Thomas Musgrove.
