He was predeceased by: his parents, John William McKone, Sr. and Dixie Lee McKone (McNemar); and his brother John W. McKone, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Colonel Tammy Ann McKone (Stewart); his siblings, Robert Joseph McKone, Patrick Michael McKone, Carole L. George and Cynthia A. Marie McKone; his siblings-in-law, John Stewart (Lisa), Cathy Stockwell (Edward), Mary Ann Rocco (John) and Linda McKone Beach; and his close friend George Fuller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Markwood Funeral Home (111 S Mineral St, Keyser, WV 26726). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
