He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard S. Hartman and Amy Marie Hartman (Wallace); his sister Shirley Shoemaker; his half-brother Daniel "Buck" Haggerty; his uncle Charles Wallace; and his nephew Howard Frank Hartman.
He is survived by: his spouse Catherine M. "Cat" Hartman (Embrey); his children, Kevin David "Jake" Hartman of Burlington and Kimberley Burnell Smith of Keyser; his siblings, William "Bill" Hartman of Summerfield, FL and Gladys Moreland of LaVale, MD; and his half-siblings, Frank Hartman of Inwood, WV, Ray Hartman of Keyser, Bruce Takach of Cleveland, OH, Madeline Ann Hartman of Romney, WV, Bonnie May Lewis of Romney, Patty Barhydt of Goshen, IN, Janie Ann Varner of Inwood and Brenda Lawrence of Romney. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
