He was predeceased by: his parent Solomon Clinton; and his siblings, Virginia Turner, Betty Potts, Lena Cory, Maude Hall, Aubrey Hoover, Leo Hoover, Sammy Hoover, Paul Hoover and Henry Hoover.
He is survived by: his parent Mary B. Hoover (Rexrode); his wife Shirley; his sons, Dale E. Hoover, Jr. (Diane) of Keyser, WV and Donald W. Hoover (Sharon) of Midlothian, VA; his grandsons, Luke (Megan), Nicolas (Samantha) and Adam; and his sisters, Leona Jacob of Fort Myers, FL and Maxine Kessel (Leroy) of Fisher, WV.
