She was predeceased by: her parent Claude E. Rice; her husband Fredrick Lee Athey, Sr.; her daughter Martha A. Kasmier; and her siblings, Paul Rice, Rock Rice and Betty DeVelbliss.

She is survived by: her parent Cora "Pauline" Rice (Barr); her children, Carol Worgan (James) of Westernport, MD and Fredrick "Freddie" Lee Athey, Jr. of Keyser; her grandchildren, Jennifer Oates (Jeff), James Worgan (Beth), Johnathon Worgan, Ross Kasmier (Dana) and Sarah Jane Kasmier; and her children, Office Dr of Development and Rocky Point Dr. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
