He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde and Julia Leedy Coffey of Virginia; his brothers, Estill Franklin Coffey and Robert Lee Coffey; his wife Janet Skeens Coffey; and the mother of his children Bonnie Arthur.
He is survived by: his significant other Peggy Kitchen Coffey; his children, Carl Coffey (Barbie), Candie Hamilton (Tim), Kim Boyd (David) and Jim Kitchen (Kimberly); his grandchildren, David, Steven, Josh, Carl Nathan, Jaclyn, Zack and Jacob; and his sister JoAnn Rakes (James D.). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
