He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Pyles and Ivyree Hutchinson Pyles; and his daughter Cherie Carnes. He is survived by: his wife Helen Margaret Nelson; his children, Larry David Pyles (Cora), Susanne Kight (Frank), Jerry Pyles (Theresa) and Terry Pyles (Mary); his son-in-law Gary Carnes; his grandchildren, Felicia Mastrangelo (Eric), Jessica Dawson (Tyler), Andrew Kight (Lindsay), Daniel Kight, Kelly Carnes, Spencer Pyles (Minnie), Olivia Pyles, Luke Pyles, Jeremy Pyles (Lexie) and Noah Pyles; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel Mastrangelo, Dante Mastrangelo, Lachlan Dawson and Ezra Kight.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Ceredo (1120 Poplar St, Kenova, WV 25530). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
