He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnett T. Sowder and Susie J. Maxwell Sowder; and his siblings, Charles, Lawrence, Steve Sowder and Janis Caldwell.
He is survived by: his brother Raleigh "Red" Sowder (Janet); and his sister-in-law June Sowder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
