He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Leist and Betty Lou Perry Wellman; and his grandson Alan Leist. He is survived by: his stepfather Charles Wellman; his wife Carol Jean Leist; his sons, Michael Leist (Jennifer), Jamie Leist and Andrew Leist (Tina Stewart); and his grandchildren, Stefan, Harleigh, Sarah, Kayla, Jacob, Brayden, Seth, Alexa and Zoe.
