He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys and Lemmie Adkins, Sr.; his sisters, Eloise Norris (Bill), Hope Napier (Paul) and Roberta Frazier (Sam); and his siblings-in-law, Thelma Bailey (Eddie), Judy Adkins (Denzel), Lindsey Rutherford, Roy Shaffer, Gallie Lester and Charles Kiser.
He is survived by: his wife Lelah Ruth Adkins; his son Jeffrey Adkins (Terri); his grandchildren, Lindsay Adkins and Keith Griffith (Bridget); his great grandchildren, Logan Griffith of Kenova, Kayne Trent of Kenova and Shaelyn Trent of Kenova; his siblings, Pansy Emma Shaffer of Huntington, W. Va, Beulah Lester of Ocala, Fla., Helen Kiser of Houston, Tex. and Lemmie Adkins Jr. of Wayne; and his brother-in-law Larry Rutherford (Brigetta) of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
