He is survived by: his sons, Edward Eugene Thornton (Ronda), William Joseph Thornton and Matthew Lee Thornton; and his grandchildren, Reshinda Thornton, Santana Thornton, Summer Thornton, Josslynne Thornton, Caleb Thornton and Bently Thornton. He is also survived by Several loving nieces, nephews and friends.
