He is survived by: his wife Sona Minnich Alkire; his children, John J. Alkire Sr. (Selene) of Hackers Creek, Julie A. Alkire of Weston and Jeanne A. Sherry (Walter) of Anderson, SC; his grandchildren, Col. Jonathan P. Eizenberg, Dr. Jesse Vrecenak of St Louis, MO, John J. Alkire Jr. and Janelle of Weston; and his great grandchildren, James P. Alkire, Sloanne E. Alkire, John "Jacob" Alkire III, Cason Bush, Abigail Eizenberg, Netanel Eizenberg and Aviel Eizenberg.
