He was predeceased by: his parents, Artenis Bean and Martha Curtis Bean; his daughter Nina Bean; and his siblings, James Bean, John Bean, Wanda Gall, Mamie Cuppett, Virginia Booth, Hansel Bean, Bessie Bernadine Walters and Dorthy Reeder.
He is survived by: his wife Frances "Irene" Bean; his children, Nelson Bean Jr. (Sara Donnellan) and Myra Davis (Jon); and his grandchildren, Lesley Pertz (Eddie), Tyler Hughes (Christopher Childs), Harley Bean (Amanda Myers), Lindsay Mayfield (Daniel Cremeans), Cynthia Bean and Jillian Bean. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
