He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Ervin Hurst and Beatrice Earl West Hurst; his wife Betty Jean Plaugher Hurst; his daughter Brenda Sue Hurst; his granddaughter Amanda Suzanne Riffle; his great grandchild Mackenzie Paige Crawford; his son-in-law Rondal Eagle; and his siblings, Margarite Smith, Minnie Kitts, Albert Hurst, Dorothy Smith and Lako Hurst.
He is survived by: his children, Gayle Hurst (Charlotte) of Gerrardstown, Carol Riffle (David) of Jane Lew, Debra Eagle of Weston, Terri Harris (Jim) of Jane Lew and Sheri Crawford-McSweeny (Perley) of Wayne; his grandchildren, Melissa Trimble, Tabetha Grogg, Lesley Jones, Tracy Cogar, Jason Hurst, Joe Riffle, Shawn Tavares, Adam Eagle, Rob Crawford, Jonithon Crawford and Brian Harris; and his siblings, Maudie Dodrill and Stanley Hurst (Mary Jane). He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
