He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ray Bailey and Anna Mae Bailey; his stepson Timothy Eckes; and his siblings, Henry, Bessie, Leola Bernard, Irene and Jessie.
He is survived by: his spouse Barbara Joan Fisher Bailey; his children, Leonard Edward Bailey Jr. (Brianna Cain) and Jennifer Lynn Bailey; his significant other Willie Nicholson; his grandchildren, Robin, Hannah, Faith and Riley; his stepchildren, Sherry McCarty (John) and Jessica Queen (Dillon); his siblings, Glenna Shaffer, Madge Fox, Bonnie Bailey, Cathy Cunninghan and Geneva Manning; and his nieces and nephews, Tommy Bailey, Cindy Singleton, Larry Bailey, Danny Bailey and Buck Smith.
